After taping a tutorial for BGI Premium Members on Hard Time Killing Flooring Blues by Skip James, one think irked me …
I was pretty sure the tune was recorded with an unwound (plain) 3rd string however I recorded the lesson with an injury third string.
I questioned if there’s any genuine distinction between the two and if so, is it too subtle to appreciate. This video is a contrast of the 2 types of strings on a snippet of Tough time Killing Flooring Blues and a fun one from Charley Patton … Green River Blues.
What do you believe? Exists a difference? Does it matter?
