The American Folk Blues Festival was a music festival that explored Europe as a yearly event for several years starting in 1962. It presented audiences in Europe, including the UK, to leading blues entertainers of the day such as Muddy Waters, Howlin’ Wolf, John Lee Hooker and Sonny Kid Williamson, the majority of whom had never ever previously performed outside the US.
