CD 1990 – The Texas Bluesman
Track 07 – Guitar Lightnin’
Sam Hopkins was a Texas country bluesman of the greatest quality whose career began in the 1920s and stretched all the way into the 1980s. Along the method, Hopkins viewed the genre change incredibly, but he never considerably altered his mournful Lone Star sound, which translated onto both acoustic and electrical guitar. Hopkins’ active dexterity made intricate boogie riffs appear easy, and his fascinating penchant for improvising lyrics to fit whatever circumstance might occur made him a precious blues troubadour.
